Risk Management in Engineering: Learning from Case Studies (9-12 pm)

Join presenters Katie Jones, Partner with the law firm of O’Hagan Meyer, and Melissa Roberts, Vice President with USI Insurance Services as they present fact patterns from four recent and real cases with compelling implications for consulting engineering firms. The presentation will lead to review of: (1) the standard of care; (2) preferred contract language; (3) navigating site observation and field reports; (4) code compliance; and (5) best practices for subconsultant agreements.
The Workshop will also include an hour-long course on Ethics for the Design Professional from Professional Liability cornerstone insurer, AXA XL. The presentation will help to define ethical behavior, review professional association ethical canons, and explore models for ethical decision-making and strategies for ethical responsiveness.

2025 Conference Program
Professional Development Hours
Professional Development Hours (PDHs) will be offered for attending the conference. One PDH equals one contact hour.
Attendees will receive a certificate granting the PDHs after the conference concludes. It will be your responsibility to chart your attendance and determine your hours.
